Common Questions

When should I see a physiotherapist after a sports injury?
Ideally within 24–72 hours of an acute injury. Early physiotherapy assessment helps confirm the diagnosis, initiate appropriate management and design a rehabilitation plan that gets you back to sport as quickly and safely as possible.
How do I know when I am ready to return to sport?
Return to sport should be based on objective criteria β€” not just time. At APARC we use strength testing (including isokinetic dynamometry), functional movement assessments and sport-specific tests to confirm readiness. Returning too early significantly increases the risk of re-injury.
Can I train around an injury during rehabilitation?
Yes β€” in most cases you can continue to train parts of your body that are not injured. Your APARC physiotherapist will advise on modified training loads and activities that maintain your fitness without worsening the injury.
Do you treat professional and amateur athletes?
Yes β€” APARC sports physiotherapists treat athletes at all levels, from recreational sport participants to competitive and professional athletes. The same evidence-based approach applies regardless of level β€” the goals and expectations are simply adjusted accordingly.
